The Cynthia Alexander Group runs the gamut of folksy alternate tuned guitar and maguindanaoan gongs (southern philippines) and indian indian tals (rhythms) with the occasional cello or saxophone player to sweeten or spice up the live stage.

They have live-scored twice at the German Silent Film Festival - the 1920's art film ‘Destiny' by Fritz Lang (2005) and Joe May's Asphalt (2006)

They opened Fete de la Musique (Manila)'s World Music Stage for four consecutive years (2001 to 2005).

The Cynthia Alexander Group has performed at the Rainforest World Music Festival in Sarawak, Borneo (August 2000).

The group has also performed with the British Airways PipeBand (2002) to raise funds for the children of Mango Tree House (Payatas) and collaborated with top UK Performance Poet Francesca Beard (November 2005).

MA. LOURDES MATUTE (synth, vocals, gongs and kulintang, dumbec, koto, gamelan) is a Musicology and Asian Music Major and teacher of Koto Kulintang and Gamelan at the University of the Philippines and a faculty member of the Multiple Intelligences School in Quezon City. She studied under the auspices of Aga Mayo Butocan. She is a member of the Philippine Gong and Bamboo Ensemble MUSIKALINANGAN.

Simon Tan (bass) isne of the most versatile and visible jazz bassplayers in the country today. You will find him playing everywhere in a wide range of styles. Louie Talan, Bass

Louie Talan (bass) has been off and onstage with the Cynthia Alexander Group for several years now. He is main bassman for Pinikpikan, Spy, Razorback, Mishka Adams etc. He is winner of International Young Music Entrepreneur of the Year in the Philippines 2007 and is currently in London.
